Martin Painter named Head Coach of FC London
The Executive team of FC London had this to say at the press conference this week introducing the team and head coach to the local soccer community here in London.
“Martin is one of Canada’s pre-eminent soccer professionals,” said Campbell. “For more than a decade, Martin has dedicated himself to the development of young soccer players. We believe he is ideally suited to teaching, training and coaching some of the most talented young soccer players in North America.”
With that being said, it should be noted that Martin will continue on with his current role as the North London Soccer Club Head Coach. Martin had this to say on his recent announcement with FC London and his ongoing commitment to NLSC.
“As you may have heard, I was recently appointed the Head Coach for Forest City London (FC London), a new soccer franchise for the City. The new team will play in the USL Premier Development League (PDL) which is a North America wide League with a high standard of play. I am excited to have the opportunity to coach the new team and confident that FC London will be a source of motivation and inspiration for our youth players. I am also pleased to say that subject to the approval of the Executive, I will be continuing my role as Club Head Coach of North London Soccer Club. I would like to help build on our tradition of success in developing top class players and teams and I expect several of the new players for FC London will be graduates of the North London program. I look forward to working with all of our teams and coaches to continue to develop all of our players to the best of their abilities.”
On behalf of the Executive Board of the North London SC we are in support of Martin’s new position and his ongoing commitment to the North London Soccer Club program. Congratulations Coach Marty!!!
